Whanganui is experiencing unprecedented growth and to support the ongoing planning of this thriving community, we require a Regulatory Planner (Resource Consents) and two Policy Planners.

We have a vibrant team and are looking for Planners to come and join our motivated and fresh-thinking office. We require Policy Planners to develop the district's growth planning framework and a Regulatory Planner to help facilitate the exciting development projects that are being brought forward.

Our district is known for its built history, natural environment and having the first river in New Zealand to be identified as a legal entity. Whanganui is a vibrant district, with a mix of urban and rural issues, which will offer variety in your everyday work. Whanganui is small enough to be intimate, yet sizeable and progressive to give you a wide variety of services. One of the most satisfying things about working with us is being in touch with the wider community and having an influence on the area you live in.

As the successful applicant you will be part of a results-focused planning team. You will need to be committed to providing excellent customer service with an emphasis on securing quality planning outcomes for our local community.

We're focused on progress and leading the strategic direction of our district, so it makes sense to extend that toward the ambitions and career goals of the people we employ. Our salary packages are more competitive than ever before, for the right applicant. Combine this with living in one of New Zealand's affordable cities you'll secure an unrivalled lifestyle.

If you are degree qualified in a planning related discipline, eligible for membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute, and are keen to get involved in the planning for one of the most interesting and dynamic communities in New Zealand, then you need to contact Hamish Lampp, Planning Manager for a chat - give him a call on 06 349 3022 or (Please do not send applications to this person).
