Library Assistant (Frontline Services)

We are looking for an enthusiastic vibrant individual to work permanent part time at the Davis and Gonville Library:

The hours and locations of work are:

  • Monday 9:15 am - 5:15 pm (7 hours) Davis Library
  • Tuesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (8 hours) Gonville Library
  • Friday 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm (4.5 hours) Gonville Library
  • Saturday 9:00 am - 2:30 pm (5 hours) Gonville Library

Our Library Assistants perform a key customer service role for the business, making sure the hundreds of customers who visit our branches every day enjoy their visit, get what they came for and go home happy.

About The Role:

You will be part of a busy team:

  • Handling checkouts and returns
  • Returning books to shelves
  • Assisting customers to navigate our collections and find great reads
  • Helping with a range of public computer enquiries
  • Barista for library cafe (training will be provided)

About You:

  • A people person with proven customer service experience who is passionate about helping customers
  • Enjoy working in a team
  • Excellent communication, listening and reasoning skills
  • Strong computer literacy
