Waste Minimisation Officer

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Waste Minimisation Officer to develop, implement, and monitor waste reduction initiatives across the Whanganui District. This role plays a key part in supporting Council's commitment to environmental sustainability and achieving waste reduction targets outlined in our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A background in behaviour change, ideally with experience in waste minimisation.
  • Strategic planning and experience in developing and delivering waste plan activities.
  • Previous experience in local government is advantageous.
  • Experience in working with community groups and stakeholders.

In addition to the above, you must be an exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills to develop and maintain successful relationships.
