About the role
Not all heroes wear capes, some wear whistles!
A day in the life of a lifeguard; arrive fresh and check the pool deck, scan the water, predict where there may be trouble and prevent it from occurring. Champion safety rules with confidence and kindness, build rapport with our patrons. Work as part of an awesome team, building quality relationships whilst developing key skills.
Our Senior Lifeguard will at time lead the team, ensuring all roles are conducted safely and to the expected standard.
This role is a permanent role working 4 days on, 3 days off (Tuesday -Thurday off, Friday - Monday on).
Full training can be provided if needed, including PLPC qualification and comprehensive first aid.
What will you need?
- A good attitude, enthusiastic and reliable
- Confidence in and around water - able to swim (swim test will be required in training)
- Ability to work effectively with all cultures and ages
- Clear and calm communication and high work standards
- Great work ethic, teamwork and adaptability
- Sharp observation with quick decision making
- Ability to thrive under pressure and lead a team
- Experience in a customer service role or similar advantageous

To be eligible you need:
- The right to work in New Zealand or a NZ Work Visa with at least 12 months remaining on it from your commencement date with us
- To be medically fit for employment
- Must be 16 years old or up
We are looking for a diverse range of candidates, from different cultures with varied backgrounds and experience. Our standards are high so should you apply to join us you will undergo a comprehensive selection process that will assess you against our core requirements. You'll then complete a two week paid initial training course. In return, you'll get opportunities for professional development and working with a fun and supportive team.
All candidates are required to complete a criminal history check, under the Vulnerable Children's Act before commencement of employment.
