Corridor Access Officer

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining Whanganui's road infrastructure? We're seeking a skilled Corridor Access Officer to join our Roading team in a role that offers diverse project experience and meaningful impact on our community.

About the role:

As Corridor Access Officer, you'll be responsible for managing all activities within our road reserve, including:

  • Overseeing infrastructure projects and utilities maintenance
  • Coordinating temporary traffic management
  • Providing expert advice on roading matters for LIM reports and building consents
  • Managing key operational systems
  • Collaborating with contractors, utility companies, and council departments

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in roading, construction and maintenance, or relevant trade background
  • Knowledge of the National Code of Practice for Utility Operators Access to Transport Corridors
  • STMS AB NP or P qualification with experience in designing and implementing Traffic Management Plans (or unit standards 31962, 31963 or TTMP qualification)
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with NZTA, Council teams and community groups
