About us

The Venues and Events team at the Whanganui District Council are looking for a positive and enthusiastic administrator to join their vibrant team and to provide support in our fun and fast-paced work culture.

The Venues and Events portfolio consists of the following venues:

  • Whanganui War Memorial Centre
  • Royal Wanganui Opera House
  • Cooks Gardens Events Centre
  • Majestic Square
  • The Velodrome

About the role

This is a varied role which requires an Administrator that can be flexible, detail-orientated, and innovative in their approach. The role reports to the Manager Visitor Experiences and the Administrator will provide confidential, effective administration and technical support to the Manager as well as Venues & Events staff. Training will be provided where required.

About you

  • Strong experience in administration
  • Professional and innovative
  • High attention to detail
  • Can do attitude and an eagerness to be part of and contribute to a high-paced fun team
  • Current full NZ drivers' licence
  • IT savvy in MS Office suite and the use of a variety of systems
  • Articulate and able to effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
