Manager - Parks and Property

Lead the places that make Whanganui special.

Whanganui District Council is seeking an exceptional leader to guide our newly refocused Parks and Property team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of some of the district's most iconic assets, including Virginia Lake, Kowhai Park, Cook's Gardens, the Whanganui Regional Museum, Sarjeant Gallery, the Royal Whanganui Opera House, our cemeteries, community facilities, housing portfolio, commercial properties, parks and open spaces.

Reporting at a senior level within Council, you will lead a diverse portfolio responsible for the stewardship, performance and development of community places that contribute to Whanganui's identity, wellbeing, heritage, recreation and economic vitality. You will provide strategic leadership across operations, property management, asset planning, contract delivery and long-term investment decisions.

We are looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking leader with experience in asset management, property, parks, infrastructure or community facilities. You will be passionate about delivering great community outcomes, building high-performing teams and ensuring Council's assets are sustainable, resilient and fit for future generations.
